I sat down today to write a letter to my friend Kate out in Calgary. Something hit me when I began to put the pen to paper… I’m fucking retarded.

Over the past 4 years the only thing I write is short hand for study notes or lecture notes. It is almost painful to watch me attempt to put ideas and thoughts into a sheet of paper with a pen. It is weird to think that over my lifetime I’ve never really been responsible or marked on my ability to form a thought without using a computer.

Writing has truly become a lost art and is fucking difficult to get done.

Over the past month I’ve been neglecting this blog, mainly due to pressures placed on to me by school. 4^th year economics isn’t the walk in the part people made it out to seem. I seem to always have something major on my plate, and when things finally die down I don’t have enough energy to write something decent down.

Students in many are over worked and given too many responsibilities. On any given day I am studying for math quizzes, econometric papers or random memorization midterms. University is less about gaining the knowledge and more about seeing if you have what it takes to handle the stress.

In economics a university degree is considered an indicator of performance… until recently I always thought it was because of the knowledge you gained. It isn’t, it’s about how much bullshit you can deal with at once.

Finally to end this rant my top 5 favorite swear words, followed by the top 5 I use the most.
