09.12 - My Summer Job

How can there be a God
If kids get cancer
They don’t know how to sin
Only smile and play
Struck with cancer
They sit on hospital beds
As I read children’s books to them
It’s hard to see them as lives
As the grim reaper has clamed them
With machines pumping their lungs
I just turn the pages of the book
Trying not to believe
These sweet kids I read to
May not make it next week
I look at the window at the world outside
And see all the people
Who deserve this fate
Then I sit by myself when the books done
And think
How can there be a God
If kids get cancer

jp, it's hard to make fun of a poem about cancer victims, especially child cancer victims. my advice to you: don't write poems about child cancer victims, this way I'll be able to make fun of them without feeling guilty. cause that was bad man, what are you trying to get laid or something? top

i worked with kids all summer with cancer, i saw one of them pass away in front of me, this isn't a joke or anything, seeing a child pass away is a haunting image i don't wish on anyone, please support research or give your time to cancer research, any support is needed top

a son of some one close to me got it, which was one of a few reasons i donated my time, as we get older and have extra income i just want to spread the word that this is important, not just for general research but specific ones like child welfard and recovery top
